Nice, you're ready to create a project!
We have broken the project creation process into 3 steps;
1. Details
2. Members
3. Configuration
Let's go through these steps in more detail.
In the first step on project creation we are going to give our project a name, then associate it to a client, if you dont have any client configured or dont want to assign this to a client then you can leave this blank. Next we can change the inital status, by default it will be set to new but you can move this directly into another status if required.
If you wanted to make this a private project so that only you can see this then change the privacy drop down, if you are happy with your colleages seeing this project then leave it in its default state.
Now we will add a description to make sure we have an overview of who, what and why we are doign this project. This is primarily used so that all members and teams involved in the project understand the bigger picture of the project.
Next we will add a value to the project, at this point this data is purely for storing the value but will be used in future product features in some very cool ways!
Finally we add in the date details, when you are planning on starting the project and when the client is expecting its completion.
Now onto step 2, building our project team!
This step is nice and quick, this is the screen where you assign the indivduals or teams that you want to assign to the project. You can scroll and click on the people you want to include or you can use the search the two lists and select from the results.
The final step, configuration. At this point this is very simple, it allows you to define if this project is allowed to have files uploaded to it. By default it is turned on. You will also see other opions that will be available in the future as well!
Now that you have created your project you will want to and in your deliverables and tasks. Check out our article 'Building out my project' to see how we add deliverables and tasks!
